Every break up is different and not all relationships can be fixed but here is a basic plan that can help you get back with your ex. It may need a bit of alteration to fit in with your individual circumstances.

For the first few weeks after a relationship ends, you should spend some time apart from your ex. You can take this time to take a step back and think about what has happened. It may seem like the last thing that you want to do after you have just broken up with someone, but it is the best thing you can do.

The advantage of going through a cool of period is that you will get used to being away from your ex. People will very often show a more desperate side to themselves when they are in this situation. After this time it is time to for you to make contact. You need to be delicate in the way you approach the idea of the two of you meeting up. Start out by asking them out for a drink just as friends.

You should give it up there and then if they decline, as this means that they have moved on with their lives. However if they agree to the meeting then this is a big plus as you have remained sensible.
